This Privacy Policy explains how ParaCortex ("we," "our," or "us") handles information. By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information Collection and Use

a. Authentication Data

We use Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google for user authentication. While these services provide unique identifiers to manage your account, we do not store or collect your name or email address in our database.

b. Location Data

ParaCortex tracks significant locations where you spend time while the app is actively being used. This data is used solely to provide the core functionality of the app. This information is processed on your device to give you location context.

c. AI Task Processing

ParaCortex offers two modes of AI-assisted task breakdown:

• On-Device AI (iOS 26 and later): On supported devices, task descriptions are processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device language models. No data leaves your device for this feature.
• Cloud AI (optional, opt-in): If you enable AI Task Breakdown in Settings → Privacy & Permissions, your task description text will be sent to a third-party AI provider to generate a structured breakdown of your task into micro-wins. Only the task description you type or dictate is sent — no account information, location data, or other personal data is included. This feature can be revoked at any time from the same settings screen.

2. Third-Party Services

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools (e.g., Firebase, AdMob, or Google Analytics). With the exception of the optional Cloud AI feature described in Section 1c, your data is not shared with or sold to any third-party companies.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data only for as long as your account is active.

• User Control: You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time via the settings menu within the app.
• Upon deletion, all stored data is permanently removed from our servers.

4. Global Compliance (GDPR / CCPA)

ParaCortex is intended for a global audience. We minimize data collection to the absolute necessities (data minimization).

• Access / Correction: Since we do not store names or emails, your data is linked to a masked internal ID.
• Consent: By enabling location services in your OS settings, you provide explicit consent for us to process that data.

5. Children's Privacy

Our services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
